Each year hundreds of sponsorship proposals are sent to and received at our office. Many of these are professionally done, some are well done home efforts that may or may not fulfill the needs of the decision-makers. A few are rushed; handwritten notes that dont have a snowballs chance of making it passed the "sorry letter" pile.
To assist the many deserving racers out there in the learning process, the following guidelines are offered. These guidelines are the minimum for the information required to consider sponsorship. Acceptance of your proposal is by no means a promise of sponsorship.
No monetary sponsorships are in the budget. Auto Meter only offers product assistance. This can be in three forms. First is product at no charge, second, cost assistance and third, a combination of both. The budget is small, so only a relative few can be accommodated each year.
Proposals are accepted for the following season beginning in November each year. All are answered by end of March. When planning your proposal use the following guidelines commonly referred to as the "Six W Outline".
1) Who are you?
2) Where have you been?
3) Where are you now?
4) Where are you going?
5) What do you specifically need from the sponsor?
6) What do you plan to return for the sponsors investment?
These are guidelines, not specific questions. Use them to outline your proposal, include a couple of photos and send by US Mail to:
